Dear Flowerbossa,

Sorry for my ignorance but what is
CREA?

The 21th century has reach my home now after updating my satellite dishes and now I have a Korean channel called Arirang and a Japanese channel called NHK. Lucky for me they are both English speaking. The man who came and installed the new box and the satellite dishes never thought he would see an analog box these days but since it was 21 years ago since the last time I guess I was the owner of some "antiques". I saw BYJ in a commercial in a twinkling of a second the other day. Strange to see him on my TV

Hi Ida,

CREA is a Japanese women's magazine and this particular issue featured BYJ (in an attached booklet).

It was a great issue because it also featured movies/actors of the east and west.

If you're interested, I've uploaded some pics from the magazine (sorry for the poor quality!)

So you can now watch Korean and Japanese TV! You're way ahead of me because I do not have a Korean channel(T_T)

I'm curious to know what you will be watching on NHK.

Please enjoy!

love,

Dear Flowerbossa,

The daily news are interesting but I'm afraid I don't know jet what the other programs are because I don't have a schedule for the channel. The other night it was a program called "Heart to Heart" where a lady interviewed a musician. It would be nice to watch documentary films since I'm interested in history. For me as a "westerner" I need to be "educated" about Asia. What I totally dislike though is the game shows that aims to ridicule people. I just hate it! It's a total waist of time and could be used in a better way. There, I said it and you see I mean it by two exclamation marks (but with a smile):-)

Dear Ida,

If you're watching what I THINK you are watching... this is probably what you are looking for:

But in terms of time zone I can only see LONDON, which is the closest to you, right? I hope this will work for you.

The line-up seems quite interesting!
I hope you will find something that will suit your taste^^

Dear Flowerbossa,
Thank you so much for the link.

Have you heard of the competition in Korean TV called "I am a singer"?
My two favorite singers Kim Bum Soo and Yim Jae Bum are in that show. I have found a YouTube channel that follow the program. I don't understand what they say but I can listen to the music and see how they enjoy the competition.
Here is the link to the YouTube channel.

Are those singers known in Japan too?

Hello Ida,

No, I do not know the program you told me about, and I'm also not familiar with the two singers you mentioned. Truth be told, I do not know that many Korean singers...many of my friends are really into K-Pop artists nowadays, but I haven't been able to explore that far^^ Among the young singers I like IU a lot - she's the girl who debuted as an actress in "Dream High". She is extremely talented and charming too^^

Like I mentioned in a recent post, one of my favorite Korean artists is Bobby Kim. I was happy to hear that he is recovering from his recent injury.

I hope you are enjoying watching Korean/Japanese TV^^

Dear Flowerbossa,

I didn't know that these artist are connected to K-pop. Yim Jae Bum is 47 and I guess Kim Bum Soo is around 30. I thought K-pop was only girls and boys bands and all about the youth generation.
I'll do some research about IU and Bobby Kim to know more about what you like.

TV from Japan and Korea is interesting but due to the time- difference I need to be up at night to watch some programs and I'm afraid I need my rest.
Take care
Ida
